New Patients | Pensak Houghton Dentistry

At Pensak Houghton Dentistry we love welcoming new patients. We want to ensure that your first visit – and each one thereafter – is a pleasant and relaxing experience.

What To Expect During Your First Visit

During your visits, our knowledgeable and friendly staff will take the time to review any concerns with your current oral health. We also look at your overall health and your oral health history to get the full picture.

We will gather diagnostic information to fully review your health, and from there, we will be able to create a personalized treatment plan.

Your Oral Health History

As we will need to gather information to help us provide the best possible care, your first visit may be a little longer than subsequent visits.

Your first visit typically includes the taking of digital x-rays of your teeth. This is to get a more complete look at your teeth, including what may be happening below the gumline.

X-rays allow us to see the position of any teeth that have not yet erupted, malformed roots, and even tooth decay.

During your initial visit, we will also gather information about your medical history.

Please ensure you provide complete, up-to-date information about your health, including whether you have experienced recent hospitalization, surgery or illness.

It is also important to inform us of about medications, supplements, vitamins, herbs and other natural cures you may be taking (prescription or over-the-counter products) or recent changes to any medications, and the name of your physician.

All of this information will help us select the safest and most-effective method(s) of treatment for you.
